Scholarships offered through the BK Foundation

Scholarships offered through the BK Foundation

There are two main types of scholarships available through the BK Foundation:

Endowed Scholarships

The Bishop Kelly Foundation manages several endowed scholarships which are cataloged below. Funding an endowed scholarship within the Bishop Kelly Foundation can create life-changing gifts for BK students in perpetuity. It is also a meaningful way to craft a legacy of helping students achieve their goals of obtaining a Bishop Kelly education. Scholarship awards from these funds are made annually to students who apply for tuition assistance through BK and meet the criteria established by donors.

Annually Funded Scholarships
Endowed Scholarships

Annually Funded Scholarships

Annually funded scholarships are provided through the generosity of five Foundation donor families who believe in the value of a Catholic education. These full, four year scholarships are available to incoming freshmen from the 8 area partner Catholic schools in the Treasure Valley. Nominees are chosen by parish and school personnel and the application process is managed by the Foundation each year beginning in February.

CURRENT ENDOWED SCHOLARSHIPS

GENERAL FUNDS

The scholarships in this category represent some of the Foundation’s largest endowed funds and are the most common scholarships for donations.

Angel Scholarship Fund

This scholarship provides financial aid to students who are in need of assistance to attend Bishop Kelly High School. It is made possible by the many donors of gifts to the general scholarship fund.

Fr. Dodgson

The Father Dodgson Scholarship Fund was established to provide tuition assistance to students who would otherwise be unable to attend Bishop Kelly High School. Thanks to the generous donation of William and Frances Lynch and Carl and Donetta Reynolds, along with alumni and friends of Bishop Kelly, the fund has continued to grow each year.

Fr. Riffle

- Instrumental in developing the BK Foundation
Father Don Riffle was a strong proponent for Catholic education and Bishop Kelly High School. Throughout his life, Father Riffle was tireless in his advocacy and belief in the high quality of Catholic education. Father Riffle passed away suddenly in January of 2013. It was his wish that, upon his death, a scholarship in his name be endowed to provide scholarships to students from parochial schools who might otherwise not be able to attend Bishop Kelly.

Fr. Russell

The Fr. Pat Russell scholarship was originally established by the Bishop Kelly Class of 1998, who were students of Father Pat. Fr. Russell was a 1977 alum who also served as a resident priest here at BK. This special fund in his honor has also been supported by his fellow alumni of the Bishop Kelly Class of 1977 as well as friends of Father Pat and his family.

Fr. Wilson
